The Team USA Journey Presented By OREO Kicks Off In Las Vegas

By United States Olympic Committee | June 17, 2019, 12:30 p.m. (ET)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Team USA Journey presented by OREO, a one-of-a-kind interactive social media experience, kicks off in Las Vegas on June 17 and will make 20 stops across the country, bringing the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic movements to Team USA fans ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The Journey is an immersive experience that engages and connects fans with all things Team USA, while also letting fans meet Team USA athletes, collect prizes and more. The Team USA Journey presented by OREO will make several stops in 2019 and nearly a dozen in 2020, leading up to and during the Tokyo 2020 Games.

“The Team USA Journey presented by OREO provides a wonderful opportunity to bring the energy and excitement of the Games on the road to Team USA fans,” said Laurie Hernandez, two-time Olympic medalist in gymnastics. “I know first-hand how sports have the power to bring people around the world together, and this unique experience captures that spirit while giving fans the opportunity to celebrate Team USA athletes as they prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Games."

The Team USA Journey presented by OREO features four interactive elements, completely immersing Team USA fans in the Olympic and Paralympic journey as they navigate four individual rooms inside the experience. In the same way that Team USA athletes begin their own Olympic and Paralympic Games experiences, fans will begin their journey by leading the team during Team USA’s introduction at the Opening Ceremony. As fans move into the vehicle’s second room, they will immerse themselves in the streets of Tokyo with the bright neon signs and the iconic Shibuya Crossing as the backdrop. Room three is the Team USA hype room, which highlights various Olympic and Paralympic sports. It also includes an inspiring word collage on the wall, perfect for capturing social media content. In the final room, visitors can enjoy a new and exciting way to interact with Team USA athletes and enjoy samples of free OREO cookies.

“We are so proud to support Team USA and bring this amazing experience to fans across the country,” said Mariama Boamah, OREO senior brand manager. “This is our third year as a sponsor of Team USA, and we will be joining everyone in cheering on these incredible athletes next summer.”

This is the second iteration of the Team USA interactive social media experience, which made its debut as the Team USA Social Truck presented by OREO in the lead up to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
