The women's rugby teams from the United States, Canada and Columbia post for a photo following the final match at the Pan American Games Lima 2019 on July 28, 2019 in Lima, Peru.
We are now two days into the Pan American Games, and so far, it's been so good for Team USA. Modern Pentathlon celebrated its second Olympic qualification, USA Rugby had a great day securing two medals for the men and the women and USA Weightlifting celebrated its historic 100th Pan American Games medal.
Across the board, Team USA athletes proved they are here to compete.
The games will continue until Aug. 11 featuring over 600 Team USA athletes, with 12 sports up for qualification opportunities for the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. With so many days and so much to follow, we understand it can be hard to keep up, so here's what was a buzz today at the Games and on social media.
Only 361 Days To Go...
The countdown is on as shooter Nick Mowrer secured an Olympic quota spot in the men's 10m air pistol for USA Shooting, and modern pentathlete Armo Elgeziry qualified individually for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Surfing is another sport that has Tokyo implications on the line. While surfing athletes won't know they've qualified when the games come to an end, their performances at the Pan American Games could allow them to qualified by the time their season has come to an end. It's a little bit of a confusing dynamic, but an exciting one for USA surfing athletes.

USA Rugby Is Rolling
USA Rugby left it all on the field on Sunday, and both the men's and women's teams are headed home with some hardware. The men's rugby sevens team secured the bronze medal with a win over Brazil. The women's rugby sevens team lost a hard fought battle to Canada in the finals but are taking home the silver medal.
