Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Clay and later nicknamed The Greatest, passed away June 3, 2016 but his legacy will live on in perpetuity as one of the most prolific boxers and activists.

Ali competed at the Olympic Games Rome 1960 at age 18 and dominated on his way to a gold medal. Years later, he lit the Olympic cauldron at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996.

This week, his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, announced that it would be renaming its airport in his honor. The airport will soon be known as the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
