While 2018 was a successful year for Team USA, our athletes were excited to turn the page and get ready for what will no doubt be a big 2019.

With plenty of milestones in sport and life-changing moments off the field, ice or sand, there was a lot to be thankful for and even more to be excited about going forward.

From Allyson Felix to Jessica Long, Chris Mazdzer to Carli Lloyd, here are a few of our favorite posts on social media from the celebration of the end of the year.

I guess this is the time where we are supposed to reflect on the previous year (An absolute roller coaster of both amazing and difficult emotions) and then decide how we are going to move forward to be a better version of ourselves. We can do this by setting goals, I think they call these “New Year Resolutions” But as I think about what I want to accomplish for 2019 I don’t have the normal goals like finish top 3 at World Championships, giving up sugar or learning Romanian (Although those are 3 pretty good targets for next year). For me it's important to focus internally on whats motivating me, inspiring me, pushing me, making me, well, be me (and be a better communicator 😬 haha) The most important thing is feeling me and knowing that the reason I do things is because I love them, I find them enjoyable and they set my soul free. This photo is before the last training run of the Olympics and because of factors I didn’t have control of at the time, thought it was going to be the last competitive race of my life. But in this moment, this all or nothing moment I found the ability to be myself and give a fan a thumbs up and smile. This is who I am, I like to enjoy the moment with those around me and share it however I can. Maybe this mindset is really what helped make the difference... I can’t wait to continue working hard at everything I do next year. I can’t wait to continue dancing like an idiot in the woods before sliding. And I can’t wait to do a better job sharing my energy, passion and love. Let’s kick ass 2019!!! And thank all of you for all of the love and support this year and my entire career. I know I am not the best communicator and may not always be on social media but I can’t thank you guys enough!!!
