The final day of the Pan American Games Lima 2019 didn’t slow down for Team USA as USA Archery secured two additional quota spots for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Hannah Roberts and Justin Dowell won gold and bronze, respectively, in their freestyle BMX finals, and Lima hosted a spectacular Closing Ceremony to celebrate the Games.
While we're sad they had to come to an end, we're excited to take a look back through the final day of competition.
USA Archery Qualifies for Tokyo 2020
What a big day it was for USA Archery as all the recurve archers in action finished on the podium. With Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold's gold-medal finish in the mixed team finals, archery earned two quota sports -- one for the women and one for the men -- for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The men’s team composed of Ellison, Jack Williams and Tom Stanwood took bronze in the men’s team finals, with a 23-5 win over Mexico. Ellison was also selected as Team USA’s Closing Ceremony flag bearer on Sunday, after he set a new world-record earlier in the Games.

Hannah Roberts Wins Freestyle BMX Gold
Roberts highlighted USA Cycling’s performances in the women’s freestyle BMX final. The 17-year-old won gold with a score of 86.67, 19.67 points more than the next closest opponent.

In addition to the sports that took place on the final day, Lima celebrated the conclusion of the Games with the Closing Ceremony. The ceremony proved to be just like all of the events throughout Lima: full of color, vibrant with energy and executed with class.

The conclusion of the Games also had many athletes feeling grateful. They took to social media to celebrate the end of a successful run for Team USA. From swimming to wrestling, fencing to diving, many athletes were chiming in.
