Day eight of the Pan American Games Lima 2019 was action packed, with podium finishes in sports from rhythmic gymnastics to shooting. The stellar tennis duo Caroline Dolehide and Usue Arconada won gold in the women's doubles, Evita Griskenas led the way for the rhythmic team and so much more.
The Pan American Games continue until Aug. 11, featuring over 600 Team USA athletes, with multiple sports up for qualification opportunities for the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Rhythmic Gymnastics Was On Fire
Evita Griskenas won individual all-around gold in rhythmic gymnastics after a stellar performance. Not far behind was Team USA's Camilla Feeley who took home the silver medal.

And it didn't stop there! The U.S. rhythmic team was on fire and took their place on the podium with a second-place finish. They even appear to be rhythmic in every thing that they do...

More Podium Finishes For USA Shooting
The final day for USA Shooting proved to be another stellar one. Christian Elliott and Sandra Uptagrafft secured gold medals, and Minden Miles and Lucas Kozeniesky are bringing home the silver in the mixed team air rifle.

Team USA athletes continued to enjoy their time in the athlete village, watching other sports and recovering ahead of their next competition.

Also, as competition comes to an end, some athletes are having the chance to explore everything that Peru has to over. Samantha Achterberg of modern pentathlon secured her spot in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 a few days ago and, now, is at the wonder that is Machu Picchu.
Some athletes are still competing, however, so their parents are getting to see the sites without them. No love lost, though, as Savannah Jaquish's family is representing her along the way!
