Margo Hayes and Alex Puccio, who were among the top five in their qualifying group, go after podium finishes Friday at the IFSC Climbing World Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.

They are among 20 in the semifinal round in women’s bouldering on Friday. The finals are also Friday.

The world championships finish up Sunday with the women’s and men’s combined finals.

Sport climbing will make its Olympic debut in Tokyo in 2020. Only one set of medals will be awarded per gender in combined, which includes results from bouldering, lead and speed events.

Ashima Shiraishi, a three-time junior world champion, finished fifth last weekend in the women’s lead final.
