Colton Brown and Angelica Delgado, both 2016 Olympians, are among 14 Americans competing in this week’s IJF Abu Dhabi Grand Slam tournament.

Delgado, who won a silver medal in the 2018 Pan American Championships, is competing in the women’s 52 kg. weight class. Delgado tied for seventh place in the Cancun Grand Prix two weeks ago.

Joining Delgado in the women’s tournament are: Ashlyn White, 48 kg.; Leilani Akiyama and Amelia Fulgentes, 57 kg.; Hannah Martin, 63 kg.; and Chantal Wright, 70 kg.

Brown, a bronze medalist at the Pan Am Championships, is competing in the men’s 90 kg. class. Also in the men’s tournament are: Adonis Diaz, 60 kg.; Alaa El Idrissi, 66 kg.; Alexander Turner, 73 kg.; Arthur Wright and Jack Hatton, 81 kg.; and L.A. Smith III and Nathaniel Keeve, 100 kg.

More than 370 athletes from 64 nations are competing in the three-day tournament, which begins Saturday.
