Nine U.S. teams are in Yangzhou, China, this week for an FIVB World Tour 4-Star tournament as the race for points to qualify for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 heats up.

Another 4-Star tournament is next week in Las Vegas, and both tournaments will award Olympic rankings points.

Among those in this week’s women’s tournament is three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, who is teaming up with Kelly Claes. Last week in the Qinzhou 3-Star event, Claes won the bronze medal with Sarah Sponcil.

April Ross, a two-time Olympic medalist who won a bronze medal with Walsh Jennings at the Olympic Games Rio 2016, is competing with partner Alix Klineman. Ross and Klineman have won four AVP titles this year.

Also in the women’s tournament are the U.S. teams of Summer Ross and Sara Hughes, Emily Stockman and Kelley Larsen, and Betsi Flint and Emily Day.

Casey Patterson, a 2016 Olympian, is playing with Stafford Slick in the men’s tournament. Also competing are the teams of Ryan Doherty and Billy Allen, Miles Evans and Bill Kolinske, and Mark Burik and David Lee.
