(L-R) Morgan Miller and Bode Miller attend the Kentucky Derby on May 5, 2017 in Louisville, Ky.
Olympic medalist Bode Miller and his wife Morgan Beck Miller are the proud parents of a brand new baby boy. The couple announced their new addition on Sunday, just four months after losing their young daughter in a tragic accident.
According to People, the new addition was born at 1:34 p.m. on Friday. The birth comes just four months after the Miller family’s 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, died tragically after drowning in a neighbor’s pool.
Beck Miller delivered the child at their home, according to the report. The midwife who helped deliver the child shared a picture with the “TODAY” show of the baby resting on his mother’s chest as the proud father leans over them both. The Millers have not yet announced a name.
Along with their newborn son, the couple also has a 3-year-old son together, and Bode Miller has a son and a daughter from two previous relationships.
Miller officially retired from racing in 2017 at the age of 40 as the country’s most decorated Olympic alpine skier of all time. He captured six Olympic medals in five appearances at the Games — one gold, three silvers and two bronzes — over the course of his career and became the oldest skier to medal at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014. He’s also one of just five men to have won world cup races in all five disciplines.
Morgan Beck Miller is a professional beach volleyball player and a former member of the U.S. women’s national volleyball team who also played at California-Berkeley.
