(L-R clockwise) Adam Rippon, Jessie Diggins, Tori Bowie, Sue Bird, Crystal Dunn, Megan Rapinoe and Breanna Stewart are the seven Olympic athletes who posed in the 2018 edition of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue, set to hit newsstands June 29, 2018.
ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue is a highly anticipated feature every year, and the 10th anniversary edition is no exception.
This year’s issue features seven Olympic athletes. Gold medalist cross-country skier Jessie Diggins and bronze medalist figure skater Adam Rippon represent Team USA's success at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Sprinter Tori Bowie (three-time Olympic medalist), basketball players Sue Bird (four-time Olympic gold medalist) and Breanna Stewart (2016 Olympic champion), and soccer players Megan Rapinoe (2012 Olympic champion) and Crystal Dunn (2016 Olympian) also participated in the magazine issue, which celebrates the varying and unique body types of athletes. Bird and Rapinoe appeared together on one of the magazine's covers and are the first LGBTQ couple to do so in the magazine's history.
On Monday, many of the Team USA athletes proudly shared pictures from their shoots across their social media platforms. Diggins also wrote a blog about the process and what she describes as a liberating experience. Here's what they had to share.
It's time.
