During the week of July 2-8, American tennis players played the first three rounds of competition at Wimbledon in London; USA Shooting hosted their first Trap Mixed Team Tryouts for the world championship team; Beiwen Zhang traveled to Jakarta to compete in badminton's Blibli Indonesia Open; track stars Stephanie Bruce and Bernard Lagat both won their first U.S. 10-kilometer road race titles in Atlanta; six U.S. beach volleyball teams competed at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour four-star tournament in Portugal; Shelby Houlihan set a meet record in the women's 1,500-meter, Shamier Little ran the second-fastest time in the world this year in the women's 400-meter hurdles and Noah Lyles equaled his personal best and world-leading time in the men's 200-meter at the IAAF Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland; rhythmic gymnast Laura Zeng took home her fourth national title at the USA Gymnastics Championships in North Carolina; and the U.S. men's volleyball team won bronze at the FIVB Nations League in France.
