Day 13 of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 was Team USA's most successful day of competition in the medal count. Thursday was off to a solid start with Jamie Anderson continuing the American dominance in snowboarding as she earned a silver medal in the inaugural women's big air event. Skiers also had a big day on the slopes. Mikaela Shiffrin won her second medal of these Olympics with a silver in alpine combined, while David Wise and Alex Ferreira took gold and silver in the halfpipe event. In arguably the biggest women's ice hockey game in Team USA's history, the women delivered a gold medal after a 3-2 win in a shootout. The win gives the U.S. its first hockey gold medal since 1998. Team Shuster also made history on the coast. The men's curling team defeated three-time defending gold medalist Team Canada 4-3 in the semifinal, guaranteeing Team USA its highest-ever finish in curling. Elsewhere on the peninsula team events were in full swing with speedskating, Nordic combined and biathlon hosting relay competitions.
