COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Standout performances during November earned figure skater Nathan Chen (Salt Lake City, Utah), weightlifter Mattie Rogers (Orlando, Florida) and the U.S. Women’s Four Nations Cup Ice Hockey Team Best of November honors for the Team USA Awards presented by Dow, the United States Olympic Committee announced today.
Nathan Chen won his second Grand Prix Series title of the season with 271.58 points at the Internationaux de France. Sitting in third after the short program, he landed three quad jumps in his free skate to top the field by over 15 points. The victory secured Chen a qualifying spot for the Grand Prix Final for the third time in his career. It was also his fifth straight Grand Prix event win, making him the first man to win five straight Grand Prix starts in more than a decade.
Mattie Rogers earned a bronze medal in clean and jerk with a 133 kg. lift at the world championships in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. A three-time American record holder, Rogers defended her clean and jerk bronze medal from the 2017 world championships, becoming the first American weightlifter since 1999 to medal at back-to-back world championships. She is also the first American woman to accomplish the feat since 1994.
The U.S. Women’s Four Nations Cup Ice Hockey Team claimed its fourth consecutive title at the event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Winning four games in five days, the U.S. outscored its opponents 17-5 throughout the course of the Four Nations Cup. The team defeated Canada 5-2 in the championship game, led by Hilary Knight’s two goals.

About the Team USA Awards
Each National Governing Body may nominate one female, one male and one team per discipline. An internal nominating committee selects five nominees from both the male and female categories, and three from the team category to advance to the voting round. Votes received from NGB representatives and select members of the media account for 50 percent of the final tally, with the other half determined by online fan voting via TeamUSA.org/Awards.
