Sara Hughes and Summer Ross won their first FIVB World Tour tournament a week ago in Moscow.

This week in Hamburg, Germany, they’ll go after a podium finish at the World Tour Finals.

Hughes and Ross play Canada’s Heather Bansley and Brandie Wilkerson on Friday. On Saturday, they’ll go up against Sanne Keizer and Madelein Meppelink of the Netherlands.

The women’s quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday following the match against Keizer and Meppelink. The semifinals and medal round will take place on Sunday at Rothenbaum Stadium.

Ten women’s and 10 men’s teams qualified for the World Tour Finals. The men’s finals are Saturday.

Hughes and Ross, who began playing together in March, are the only U.S. team in the tournament.

While the World Tour Finals are in Germany, the AVP Tour makes a stop this weekend in Manhattan Beach, California.

Kelly Claes and Brittany Hochevar are the top seeds in the women’s tournament. The No. 2 seed is the team of Betsi Flint and Emily Day, and the No. 3 seed features two-time Olympic medalist April Ross and Alix Klineman.

Three-time Olympian Phil Dalhausser and 2016 Olympic teammate Nick Lucena are the top seed in the men’s tournament. Two-time Olympian John Hyden and Theo Brunner are the No. 2 seed, and Taylor Crabb and three-time Olympian Jake Gibb are the No. 3 seed.

The medal rounds are Sunday.
