Five For Friday: Softball World Championships
Nicole Ahsinger, a 2014 Youth Olympian who went on to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games, leads a U.S. trampoline contingent into the FIG World Cup this weekend in Maebashi, Japan.
Ahsinger is joined by Jessica Stevens on the women’s side. Jeffrey Gluckstein, the two-time reigning national champion, leads the U.S. men, joining Paul Bretscher, 2014 Youth Olympian Cody Gesuelli and Isaac Rowley.
The competition opens with qualifying rounds on Saturday, followed by finals in men’s and women’s individual competition, as well as men’s and women’s synchronized competition, on Sunday.
Ahsinger and Stevens will compete in the women’s synchro event. For the men, Gluckstein will partner with Rowley, while 2018 U.S. champs Bretscher and Gesuelli are the other team.
Gluckstein comes into the competition with the most experience, having won five U.S. individual trampoline titles and competed at six world championships.
