Kirsten Kasper, Chelsea Burns and Taylor Spivey, who are all ranked among the top 20 women in the ITU World Triathlon Series rankings, are in Bermuda for Saturday’s second stop on the 2018 tour.

Kasper is ranked fourth in the series.

Also among nine Americans in the elite races are Katie Zaferes, a 2016 Olympian who won a silver medal at the 2017 World Triathlon Grand Final, and Ben Kanute, who is ranked 19th in the World Triathlon Series men’s standings.

Both the elite women’s and men’s races are Saturday. The event includes a 1,500-meter swim in the clear waters of Hamilton’s Harbour, a 40-kilometer bike race with a challenging climb up “Corkscrew Hill” and a 10K run through downtown Hamilton.

Other Americans in the elite women’s race are Summer Cook and Taylor Knibb.

Joining Kanute in the men’s race are Kevin McDowell and Eli Hemming.
