Following a break of nearly three months in the HSBC Women’s World Sevens Series, the USA Women’s Eagles Sevens team is back in action this weekend in the Kitakyushu Sevens.

The team, led by 2016 Olympian Alev Kelter and Naya Topper, enters this week’s tournament in eighth place in the series standings. Others on the roster for the Eagles include 2016 Olympians Kelly Griffin and Ryan Carlyle.

The Eagles face France on Friday night (10:58 p.m. ET), and New Zealand and Japan on Saturday. The playoff rounds begin after the three round-robin matches.

“There is a great buzz in our group knowing that we only have a few tournaments left before the World Cup in San Francisco,” said U.S. coach Richie Walker. “The energy is starting to lift a little more and the girls are really excited and working hard.”
