But after a strong start by 2014 Olympian Craig Brown’s team, Team Shuster took a 5-4 lead after seven ends and a 7-4 lead going into the ninth. Clark, a two-time national champion, closed the gap and made it 7-6 heading into the 10th end, where Shuster had the hammer and controlled for the win and a 4-1 record. Meanwhile, Heath McCormick’s team also improved to 4-1 with a win over Team Brown.

Women’s Story of the Day: With all three teams deadlocked at 1-1 after two days of competition, Nina Roth’s team separated themselves from the pack with a pair of wins. They started the day with a 9-2 win over Cory Christensen’s team then came back in the evening session to face Jamie Sinclair’s reigning national champion team. The game was tied, 5-5, going into the ninth end but Team Roth took a two-point lead into the 10th. The game went to an 11th end, where Team Roth came out with an 8-7 victory.
