Vote On Team USA's Best Athletes From October

Each month, the United States Olympic Committee celebrates the outstanding achievements of Team USA athletes through the Team USA Awards presented by Dow. The USOC announced today the five nominees in the female and male categories, and three nominees in the team category for Best of October. Check out the list below to vote for your favorite performances.

To cast your vote for the Best of October honors for Team USA Awards presented by Dow, visit TeamUSA.org/Awards. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Female:

Jordan Hasay, Track and Field
Recorded the second-fastest marathon ever by an American woman with a time of 2:20:57 to finish third at the Chicago Marathon. Click here to vote for Hasay.

Morgan Hurd, Gymnastics
Extended Team USA’s winning streak to seven straight world or Olympic titles by claiming the women’s all-around gold medal, and added a silver medal on the balance beam in her world championship debut. Click here to vote for Hurd.

Lee Kiefer, Fencing
Won all six of her matches to claim the women’s foil gold medal and a No. 2 world ranking at the season-opening world cup event in Cancun, Mexico. Click here to vote for Kiefer.

Tatyana McFadden, Para Track and Field
Clinched an unprecedented seventh straight title at the Chicago Marathon, improving her own course record with a time of 1:39:15, just months after being hospitalized with blood clots. Click here to vote for McFadden.

Kim Rhode, Shooting
Captured her second consecutive – and third overall – ISSF World Cup Final title, tying the women’s skeet world record of 56/60 targets and prevailing in a 22-round shoot-off in the final. Click here to vote for Rhode.


Male:

Nathan Chen, Figure Skating
Defeated the reigning Olympic and world champion to win the men’s singles gold medal at the ISU Grand Prix in Moscow, earning a season-best 193.25 points in the free skate after landing four quads. Click here to vote for Chen.

Race Imboden, Fencing
Opened the 2017-18 world cup season by claiming the men’s individual foil bronze medal in Cairo, securing a No. 6 world ranking. Click here to vote for Imboden.

Yul Moldauer, Gymnastics
Competing at his first world championships, claimed the bronze medal in floor exercise, becoming the first American to earn a world medal in the event since Jake Dalton in 2013. Click here to vote for Moldauer.

Galen Rupp, Track and Field
Became the first American man to win the Chicago Marathon in 15 years, defeating two-time world champion Abel Kirui of Kenya by 28 seconds with a career-best time of 2:09:20. Click here to vote for Rupp.

Keith Sanderson, Shooting
Won his first-ever ISSF World Cup Final gold medal and crystal globe in seven appearances, hitting 31 out of 40 shots in the final to win the men’s 25-meter rapid fire pistol title. Click here to vote for Sanderson.


Team:

U.S. Men's Foil Team, Fencing
The U.S. men’s foil team of Race Imboden, Alexander Massialas, Miles Chamley-Watson and Gerek Meinhardt opened the world cup season by winning gold with a 45-26 defeat over Russia at the World Cup in Cairo, marking the team’s fourth medal in its last five world cup appearances and securing the No. 1 world ranking. Maia and Alex Shibutani, Figure Skating
Claimed the ice dance gold medal at the ISU Grand Prix in Moscow, winning both the short dance and free dance in dominating fashion to claim the title by nearly five points. Click here to vote for the Shibutanis.

Meghan O'Leary and Ellen Tomek, Rowing
Claimed silver in women’s double sculls at the World Rowing Championships, marking the best-ever finish in the event for a U.S. team and Team USA’s first medal in the event in 27 years. Click here to vote for Tomek and O'Leary.
