COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic Committee and the U.S. Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) today announced details of the 2018 WinterFest presented by Hershey’s to be held Feb. 19 at the U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea. WinterFest will celebrate Team USA and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 with American troops, military families and support personnel in Korea.

The event continues a tradition of celebrating Team USA with unique fan engagement events featuring Team USA athletes and live entertainment, and will serve as a special international stop of a to-be-announced tour that will visit cities across the United States in the lead up to the PyeongChang Games.

“We are thrilled to bring the excitement of WinterFest to U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, and to celebrate Team USA and the PyeongChang Games with America’s soldiers and families,” said USOC CEO Scott Blackmun. “Previous fan tours have visited all corners of the United States and will do so again before the 2018 Games. J. Scott Peterson, Commander of the U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan. “We have a long-standing friendship with the Korean people, and are honored to host an event that will showcase Korean culture and PyeongChang as the venue for next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”

The event will feature a live performance from acclaimed musician and Emmy Award-winner Rachel Platten at the Garrison’s Collier Community Fitness Center.

“I am so excited to be joining Team USA in February in Korea to perform a special concert for the troops and their families,” said Platten. “I have always been such a huge fan of the Olympics, especially the Winter Games, and I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing event.”
