Every cheer, every chant, every tweet means something special to Team USA athletes, and they’re ready to send the love right back.

Team USA is kicking off the search for its biggest fan with an online contest that begins Thursday, Aug. 31 on Team USA Fan Day. The contest to find the No. 1 fan continues through Wednesday, Sept. 27.

One lucky winner will receive a VIP experience and be Team USA’s social media correspondent during the 100 Days Out celebration in New York City’s Times Square on Wednesday, Nov. 1, a milestone that marks 100 days until the opening of Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.

In addition, will run specials on Team USA apparel and other items on Team USA Fan Day.

“We want to show fans how important they are to Team USA,” explained Johanna Olivas, Associate Director, Marketing for the United States Olympic Committee. “Every cheer, every chant, every tweet, every donation really does matter. The fans really matter. They are our team behind the team.”

The 100 Days Out celebration in Times Square will feature U.S. Olympians and Paralympians, autograph sessions, a life-sized 3-D snow globe built as a virtual reality experience, a bobsled photo opportunity, a pin trading booth, interactive social media elements, a surprise musical performance with a yet-to-be-named top performer and more.

“We’re asking people to visit and tell us why they are Team USA’s No. 1 fan,” says Olivas. “We’re asking them to tell us, in a few words, why they should be selected.”

Five top candidates will be selected from the entries, and those candidates will be asked to submit a 30-second video showcasing themselves as the biggest fan. Only one will win the grand prize VIP experience at 100 Days Out. But all fans registering for the contest are entered in a drawing to win cool Team USA gear.

Team USA Fan Day highlights:

  • Fans register through Team USA Fan Day contest with a brief statement on why they are Team USA’s biggest fan (Aug. 31-Sept. 27).
  • Five finalists will be selected. The finalists will be asked to submit a short video detailing why they are Team USA’s biggest fan.
  • Grand prize includes exclusive meet and greet with Team USA athletes, meet and greet with the celebrity performer, VIP location for the concert and more!
  • All entrants are automatically entered to win free cool Team USA apparel.
  • Special Team USA Fan Day sales on Aug. 31.
