WASHINGTON – They did splits for President Barack Obama. Threw fruit around for First Lady Michelle Obama. Presented an award to Beyoncé. Took selfies with Kim Kardashian. Attended a fashion show with Vera Wang. Danced for Sia. Were kissed by Zac Efron.
When it comes to hanging out with celebrities, the “Final Five” women’s gymnastics team has done it all, but they’re not done yet. Despite their many celebrity encounters, Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman are hungry for more and are already setting new goals – much like in their gymnastics careers.
After they won Team of the Olympic Games, presented by Dow, at the Team USA Awards, Best of the Games ceremony last month, TeamUSA.org spoke to four of the women about which celebrities they hope to meet next.
Which celebrities are you hoping to meet next?
Simone Biles: I want to meet Demi Lovato and Zendaya. Just putting that out there.
Laurie Hernandez: Oo, Zendaya.
Madison Kocian: I already met Carrie Underwood, so I’m good.
Biles: No no no, but then once you meet them you have to hang out with them, and then come up with someone else you want to meet.
Aly Raisman: I haven’t gone shopping with Blake Lively yet or met Carrie Underwood. They’ve all met their favorites.
Biles: Yeah, I noticed that.
Raisman: Yeah, everyone except me.
Hernandez: I met Tori Kelly finally.
Raisman: Blake Lively just had a baby, so give her some time.
Hernandez: I want to meet Jennifer Lawrence too though.
Kocian and Raisman (simultaneously): Yes!
Biles (with intense enthusiasm): I LOVE HER!
Hernandez: I want to meet Theo James.
Biles, Kocian and Raisman (simultaneously): Yes!
