The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will play Russia on Sunday in its opening game of the World Sled Hockey Challenge in Leduc, Alberta.

Team USA is led by team captain Josh Sweeney, alternate captains Nikko Landeros and Josh Pauls, and goaltender Steve Cash, a three-time Paralympic Winter Games medalist.

The team has won four of its last five major international competitions, including the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and 2012 world championships. Eleven members of the current team were on the 2014 Paralympic team, including Sweeney, Landeros, Pauls and Cash.

After its opening game, Team USA will face Korea on Monday and Canada on Wednesday in group play. The semifinals will be held Thursday, followed by the medal round two days later.
