Eight U.S. athletes combined forces to prove Team USA is the greatest all-around figure skating nation when they won gold at the ISU World Team Trophy in Tokyo on April 16-19. Led by team captain and 2015 world silver medalist ice dancer Evan Bates, the U.S. team was comprised of Bates' ice dance partner Madison Chock, reigning U.S. pairs champions Alexa Scimeca and Chris Knierim, U.S. ladies champions Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner and U.S. men's champions Max Aaron and Jason Brown. Overall, Team USA earned 110 points across the three-day competition, highlighted by Gold's win in the ladies short program and second-place finishes by Chock and Bates in the short dance, and Brown in the men's free skate. This is Team USA's third win in the four years the event has been held.
