Renowned author and poet Dr. Maya Angelou, known for her words of inspiration on the topics of love, humanity and joy, passed away on May 28, 2014 at the age of 86. In 2008, in honor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Dr. Angelou wrote the poem "Amazement Awaits" about the unity and triumph of the Olympic Games.
