It appeared that all three Team USA athletes hit their stride on Week 9 of "Dancing with the Stars," which was the semifinal round and saw the couples dancing to honor American icons. None earned a judge's score lower than a 9, and they combined for three perfect scores of 40 points out of 40. Olympic gold medalist ice dancer Meryl Davis led the way, earning 40 out of 40 for both her jive and her Viennese waltz. Her combined score of 80 landed her atop the leaderboard once again. Para-snowboarding bronze medalist Amy Purdy earned 39 out of 40 for both her quickstep and jazz, scoring 78 out of 80 for second place. Charlie White, Davis' ice dance partner, earned 40 out of 40 for his foxtrot and 36 out of 40 for his samba. His combined score of 76 out of 80 had him tied for third place with actor James Maslow. However, White was eliminated from the competition and will not advance to next week's final. Actress Candace Cameron Bure rounds out the group in fourth place with a score of 72 out of 80.
