LAUSANNE, Switzerland(AP) Jacques Rogge has announced he will seek a second term as president of the International Olympic Committee.
The IOC says the 66-year-old Belgian sent a letter to members Friday confirming his decision to stand for re-election in October 2009.
Rogge has been president since 2001. He is eligible for a second four-year term that would keep him in office until 2013.
Rogge's decision had been widely expected. No other candidates are expected, meaning he should be re-elected unopposed.
