2008 Olympian Charlotte Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) won the gold medal on Saturday in the women's flyweight division at the Pan American Taekwondo Championships in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Craig defeated Gladys Mora of Columbia in the finals by a score of 1-0 to lead a five-medal surge by the U.S. on Saturday.

Men's flyweight James Howe (San Ramon, Calif.) took the silver medal, while women's middleweight Dalia Avivi (Davie, Fla.), men's middleweight Jayson Grant (Worcester, Mass.) and men's bantamweight Bernard Posey (Greensboro, N.C.) all claimed bronze medals.

Women's bantamweight Eleni Koutsilianos (Astoria, N.Y.) lost in the quarterfinals on Saturday to Mexico's Rosa Reyna by a score of 11-4.

On Friday's opening day of competition, women's finweight Alexis Martinez (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) won a silver medal.

Competition at the Pan Am Championships concludes on Sunday with the men's and women's featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions in action.
