United States Olympic Committee Selects Orlando, Fla., to Host 2008 U.S. Olympic Assembly

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-The United States Olympic Committee announced today that Orlando, Fla., will serve as the host city for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Assembly. Members of the U.S. Olympic Movement will convene for the fourth annual U.S. Olympic Assembly and related events Oct. 10-12 at the Hilton located in the Walt Disney World Resort. The U.S. Olympic Assembly brings together the various members of the U.S. Olympic Family to foster communication and collaboration, and develop new initiatives focused on supporting America's athletes and the Olympic Movement. The 2008 U.S. Olympic Assembly will include the official Assembly program and a quarterly meeting of the USOC Board of Directors, as well as meetings of the Athletes' Advisory Council, Multi-Sport Organizations Council and National Governing Bodies Council of the USOC. Additional events will occur in conjunction with the U.S. Olympic Assembly, which include meetings of the National Governing Body Executive Directors and the NCAA Olympic Sports Liaison Committee.
