BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) Hackers, apparently upset with Brazil's performance in the Beijing Olympics, reportedly invaded the Brazilian Olympic Committee's Web site, forcing the organization to tale the site off the air, local media said Tuesday.

According to the Universo On Line news service of the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper the hackers replaced the site's content with criticisms on the performance of Brazilian athletes.

"Brazil stinks in these Olympics" is one of the messages the hackers posted on the committee's site, according to Universo On Line.

"Dear user, our site is temporarily off the air for maintenance reasons," the Olympic committee said in a statement posted on its site.
