Event Commemorates 100 Day Countdown to London 2012 Olympic Games
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The United States Olympic Committee today announced the 73 athletes who will attend and participate in the Road to London Celebration, presented by Hilton HHonors, taking place in Times Square April 18. The event commemorates the 100 day countdown to the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games by transforming the heart of Times Square into an Olympic Festival.
Among those attending are Olympic silver medalist Mike Day (BMX), Olympic champion Allyson Felix (track & field), World champion Missy Franklin (swimming), Olympic bronze medalist Diana Lopez (taekwondo), Paralympic champion Alana Nichols (basketball) and two-time Olympian Rau'shee Warren (boxing). Running from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., the athletes will participate in sport demonstrations, autograph signings, Q&As, special presentations and media interviews.
