Inaugural Snowboardcross Olympic champion Seth Wescott (Sugarloaf, Maine) rides against fellow teammates Nick Baumgartner (Iron River, Mich.), Graham Watanabe (Sun Valley, Idaho) and close friend, Nate Holland (Squaw Valley, Calif.) in Monday’s competition where Team USA is expected to send at least one rider to the podium. Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country and Men’s Alpine Skiing teams also make their Vancouver debut Monday. U.S. Olympians Tucker Fredricks (Janesville, Wis.), Nick Pearson (West Allis, Wis.) and Shani Davis (Chicago, Ill.), along with Mitch Whitmore (Waukesha, Wis.) making his Olympic debut, start off the sprint speedskating races at the Richmond Olympic Oval, while Pairs figure skaters Caydee Denney (Wesley Chapel, Fla.)/Jeremy Barrett (Venice, Fla.) and Amanda Evora (Sugar Land, Texas)/Mark Ladwig (Fargo, N.D./Moorehead, Minn.) will compete hoping to carry momentum from their No. 1 and 2 finishes at the U.S. Championships.
