With 60 days until the Opening Ceremony in Vancouver, winter sports are really heating up. This week’s U.S. Olympic Sports Scene features a trio of medals won by the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, led by Hannah Kearney’s gold. Also, the 2010 U.S. Olympic Teams for luge and long track speedskating are starting to take shape. Ten speedskaters have been nominated to the team, including Shani Davis and Jen Rodriguez; and seven of ten spots on the Olympic Luge Team are booked, highlighted by Erin Hamlin and Tony Benshoof.
Off the field, Olympic fencer and member of the Army World Class Athlete Program, Cody Mattern, was recognized by the U.S. Armed Forces for his dedication to volunteer service. Read about Mattern's accomplishment on TeamUSA.org.
