Comments from members of the Nordic combined team after the large hill portion of the team event. Currently in second place, the American team is well-positioned to claim the first US medal in this event (prior best finish is fourth in the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games).

Brett Camerota (Park City, Utah)
"Everyone did what they needed to do in training. So far so good. My jump was my best jump, so I'm very happy with it. For sure cross country is going to be a challenge."

"It's a lot of pressure since I'm the fourth guy and I've been trying so long to get it. I think this will be a good day hopefully."

Todd Lodwick (Steamboat Springs, Colo.)
"How could you not be happy with that (jump)? We've had so much confidence on the jump hill. It's unbelievable. I think the atmosphere in the (wax) cabin has been so positive and so relaxed and so much fun that we're not putting the excess pressure on ourselves to go out and perform. We don't need to just do something extraordinary, we've been doing this all year. This is just another competition."

Billy Demong (Vermontville, N.Y.)
"It was a solid jump. That was the intention. Everyone is doing their job. It's going to be tough. These are strong teams and a lot of them very close. I feel better than worse, that's for sure."

Johnny Spillane (Steamboat Springs, Colo.)
"I've been struggling with these skis a lot and it's hard to get confidence, but I had a good jump."
