U.S. Olympic Committee to host teleconference in advance of 100 Day Countdown to Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018

Call to feature USOC’s Kelly Skinner, and Team USA’s Meghan Duggan, Gus Kenworthy and Oksana Masters on Oct. 27

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic Committee will host a media teleconference on Friday, Oct. 27, in advance of the 100 Day Countdown to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. The call will feature two-time Olympic silver medalist Meghan Duggan (ice hockey), 2014 Olympic silver medalist Gus Kenworthy (freesking) and three-time Paralympic medalist Oksana Masters (Para Nordic skiing). Kelly Skinner, USOC vice president of sport performance, will also join the teleconference, which is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Entering her 11th season with the U.S. women’s national team, Duggan has emerged as a prominent leader and team captain for Team USA. She has aided the U.S. to seven world championship gold medals and five Four Nations Cup titles, and will look to lead Team USA in PyeongChang as it vies to win Olympic gold for the first time in 20 years.

One of the most decorated freeskiers competing today, Kenworthy owns an unprecedented six consecutive AFP overall titles and is considered a double-medal threat in slopestyle and halfpipe. He was a star of the Sochi 2014 Olympics, where he earned slopestyle silver, joining U.S. teammates Joss Christensen and Nick Goepper for a historic American podium sweep. Also known for making history off the slopes, he became one of the first male action sports athletes to publicly identify as gay in October 2015.

Masters made the successful transition to Para Nordic skiing (Para cross-country and Para biathlon) after winning bronze in Para-rowing at the London 2012 Games, and went on to win silver and bronze in cross-country skiing in 2014. After competing in Para-cycling at Rio 2016, she is coming off a banner season that saw her become the first American woman to win a Para Nordic skiing world title with four golds at the 2017 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships. She capped the season by securing her third consecutive overall women's sitting world cup globe in cross-country and finished third in the overall world cup biathlon rankings.

Skinner serves as the vice president of sport performance for the USOC and plays an integral role in the preparation and execution of all activities of Team USA related to the Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American and Parapan American Games.
