USA Table Tennis Announces Automatic Two-Month Extension

For Active Individual, Family and Club Memberships

America’s National Governing Body for Table Tennis Also Extends

Suspension of Sanctioned Tournament Play Through May 31

(Colorado Springs, CO – April 10, 2020) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis, today announced that all active memberships for individuals, families and clubs will be automatically extended for two months from their currently established expiration date to account for the current pause in sanctioned tournament activity and club play. USATT also today extended the current suspension of sanctioned tournament play through May 31, 2020.

As a part of the program announced today, USATT will also grant any individual or club who purchases a new annual membership, or renews an existing annual membership, during this pause in table tennis activity a full two-month extension of the standard twelve month annual plan so that all yearly memberships will be valid for fourteen months from the date of purchase. To take advantage of this offer, please contact USATT’s Josh Dyke at Josh.Dyke@usatt.org.

“At this time, we believe it is fundamentally fair to automatically extend each of our current members – whether they are individual players or clubs – for two months because of the current pause in tournament and club play,” stated USATT Chief Executive Officer Virginia Sung. “As a part of this decision, we want to make sure that our tournament directors are aware that, at this time, USATT will not approve any sanctioned tournament play prior to May 31, at the earliest. Of course, the circumstances created by this pandemic are unprecedented and evolving on a daily basis. USATT will continue to take action based on guidance of the appropriate governmental authorities, the safety and well-being of the table tennis community, and the underlying values of fundamental fairness to the persons who have been so supportive of our organization.”

By way of example, under the program announced today, if an individual’s (or club’s) USATT membership is set to expire on July 31, 2020, that membership will automatically be extended through September 30, 2020. Similarly, if a membership is set to expire on November 30, 2020, that membership will automatically be extended through January 31, 2021. This extension also applies to all members whose USATT membership is scheduled to expire on April 30, which will be extended through June 30; or May 31, which will be extended through July 31, 2020. The two-month extension will also be applied to persons who participate in USATT’s Ratings Access Subscription.

USATT thanks all of our members for their continuing support of our organization and our efforts to keep all persons – and specifically the table tennis safe community – safe and well in these difficult times. Please direct any questions that you may have regarding this membership extension program to: admin@usatt.org.
