Finalists determined at U.S. Mixed Doubles Championship

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) - And then there were two. Brady and Cristin Clark have been here before. The 2009 champions are just one win away from a second title as the 2011 U.S. Mixed Doubles Championship continues tonight in Duluth, Minn. However, a team from Minnesota looking to wear USA for the first time is very much alive in this championship at the Duluth Curling Club.

The Clarks, from the Granite Curling Club in Seattle, remain undefeated and will face Clayton Orvik and Senja Lopac (both of Minneapolis) in a provisional final at 6 tonight. Orvik and Lopac suffered their first loss of the competition earlier today to Tyler George and Courtney George, 9-5. But, there's a two loss provision in this championship so Orvik and Lopac hung on to play the winner of the match between the George siblings and the Clarks, which took place at 3 today. The Clarks won that battle in routine fashion, 7-2. But to get there, they had to eliminate the team of Jared Zezel (Hibbing, Minn.) and Sophie Brorson first at noon.  Trailing by three points heading into the final end, the Clarks scored five points to earn the 9-7 win.

The provisional championship final is set for 6 tonight. Earn the win and the Clarks are champions, but if they lose, since their record is without a loss, they'd get another chance at 9 p.m. to win it all.
