The United States Olympic Committee will celebrate the 100 Day Countdown to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 in the heart of Times Square on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Team USA WinterFest presented by HERSHEY’S will bring the energy and excitement of the PyeongChang Games to fans with athlete meet-and-greet autograph sessions, fan sport experiences, interactive elements, Team USA giveaways and sponsor engagement.

Press Conference and Media Hour
The event will kick-off with a press conference and media hour from 1-2:30 p.m., opening with all athletes on the main stage for a Team USA photo opp, team announcements, and a Q&A. Following the press conference, media will have the opportunity to interview nearly 50 athletes in breakout sessions throughout the event footprint beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m. This is the main opportunity for media to gather interviews and content with all attending athletes at the event. It is a credentialed session open only to working press. In addition, sport demos during the media hour will include street curling, and freestyle skiers and snowboarders on trampolines.

Event Media Opportunities
The 100 Day Countdown will continue from 3-8 p.m. in Times Square. Media will also be able to capture still images and b-roll of athletes and fans attending the event and participating in the many event activities. Some athletes, though not all, will be available for media interviews during this time, but availability will be limited. With the event open to the general public, noise levels will be higher and space will be more limited.

Live Broadcast
For the first time ever, fans at home can join the celebration by watching Team USA WinterFest presented by HERSHEY’S “The 100 Days Out Special” on the Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA from 7-8 p.m. ET on Nov. 1. The hour-long special – hosted by NBC’s Jimmy Roberts alongside Carolyn Manno – will feature highlights and interviews throughout the day and will include live musical performances by Grammy Award-winning artist Darius Rucker and rising star Grace VanderWaal on the HERSHEY’S Stage.
