Shooting Preview
Shooting will make it’s Parapan American Games debut with 12 U.S. athletes traveling to Lima, Peru for both rifle and pistol events. Highlighting the Team USA roster are 2016 Paralympic bronze medalist McKenna Dahl along with fellow rifle Paralympians Jazmin Almlie-Ryan and John Joss. Eight U.S. athletes will compete in rifle events with four competing in pistol events.

Dahl earned her medal in mixed air rifle event at the 2016 Games in Rio becoming the first U.S. woman to medal in shooting at the Paralympic Games. Joss is the lone athlete to have secured a Paralympic quota to date in R6 event (50-meter prone rifle) by virtue of a second-place finish at the 2018 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Chateauroux, France.

Over 40 athletes from 11 countries will compete in events taking place at the Base Aérea Las Palmas from Aug. 24-27. Each day will present opportunities for athletes to win medals.
