The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee will field a communications staff in Lausanne, Switzerland, to assist media in its coverage of the 2020 U.S. Youth Olympic Team. The communications team will manage the following elements for Team USA and the entire U.S. delegation:

  • Gathering and disseminating publicity and promotional information regarding U.S. athletes, coaches and/or officials
  • Facilitating interviews with U.S. athletes, coaches and staff
  • Producing and distributing news releases, Team USA Daily newsletters, general information, storylines, and other materials via email, TeamUSA.org and the Team USA Newsfeed, along with all Team USA social media channels: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | TikTok 

Microsite
A dedicated microsite at TeamUSA.org/Lausanne2020 is the central hub for news and information on Team USA, including results, competition schedules, athlete biographies, sport previews, history and records, and general information about the Youth Olympic Games.

Team USA Daily
Team USA Daily, a news blast published each day that provides U.S. results and highlights is distributed each night via email and TeamUSA.org/Lausanne 2020 from Jan. 9-22.

Rights-free images are available at the official Lausanne 2020 Flickr page and Lausanne2020.sport. The Olympic Information Services also provides rights-free photos at OISPhotos.com. Additional shots for select athletes may be obtained through Getty Images.

Interview Opportunities
The primary opportunity for athlete interviews is in the venue mixed zones as athletes are leaving the competition areas. Athlete/coach interview requests outside of the mixed zone should be directed to the respective sport press officer or a member of the USOPC communications staff. Interviews with USOPC delegation staff can be arranged by contacting a member of the USOPC communications team.

Accreditation
The deadline to submit accreditation requests to the International Olympic Committee was November 3.

Late registration requests may be submitted to Lausanne 2020 Media Operations at mediaops@lausanne2020.sport and will be evaluated case by case. Each application will be subject to approval by IOC Media Relations.
