Sarah Will is the most decorated athlete in U.S. Paralympic Alpine Skiing Team history with her 13 Paralympic medals in 10 years of competitive skiing. Will grew up in Vermont and became paralyzed from the waist down after a skiing accident in 1998. She continued to love the sport, and learned about adaptive skiing from the National Sports Center for the Disabled. Will was on a mono-ski within a year of her accident. She was the youngest member of the U.S. Disabled Ski Team when she won her gold medals in downhill and super-G at the Paralympic Winter Games in 1992. Will moved to Vail, Colorado, in the mid-90s, founding her own monoski program to help other athletes and continuing to compete across four Paralympic Games. Will retired after sweeping four gold medals in all four alpine disciplines (downhill, super-G, giant slalom and slalom) at Salt Lake City. She was nominated for an ESPY Award as Best Athlete with a Disability and worked as a sports commentator at the Olympic Winter Games. She is an advocate for accessibility, working to make her community a more accessible place for disabled individuals.
