Just as addressing misconduct is an ongoing effort, verifying that your plan is making an impact requires consistent attention and commitment. After your club develops and implements a plan, the challenge is to make sure it is effective. The beginning of a season, or when new coaches and staff join, are natural opportunities for clubs to review their strategies.

Through reviews and discussions with participants, your club can determine what’s working and what can be improved. Policies and procedures may need to evolve to accommodate the growth of your organization, changing conditions (such as more travel) and external factors (such as new legislation or guidelines from national organizations).

More experienced coaches and staff can provide important mentorship and direction to new arrivals. This dialogue is important so that participants feel informed, engaged and empowered to take action.
