JULY 22, 2012
I can’t believe the day is finally here. I am on my United flight from LA to London for the 2012 Olympic Games. It has been four years of hard work and sacrifice to get to this very moment. It was a very weird feeling packing this time for the Olympic Games. I know that it will be my last trip with a lot of my teammates because many of them will be retiring from United States Water Polo after this Olympics. We all decided to stay together after the 2008 Olympic Games because we all felt like we had lost the gold medal, not won the silver medal. Now there are 10 of 13 players that were on that 2008 Olympic Team going for gold in London. I know that the odds-makers in Las Vegas are putting us at 16-to-1 to win the gold, but my teammates and I know that we are going to prove them wrong. We are the most veteran team in the Olympic Games this year and the most important thing is that we believe in each other and treat each other like family. I would die for any one of my teammates and I know that they would do the same for me. I hope that my fans who are reading this blog are ready for us to shock the world. I will be updating this blog regularly during the Olympic Games and hope that you all can follow my team’s adventure. It is going to be a very tough road to that gold medal game, but we have physically and mentally prepared for this very moment for the last four years and we will be ready.
I want to take some time to thank my wife, Laura Moses, for being so supportive and amazing leading up to these Games. She is my best friend and my biggest fan and I appreciate her so much. She has traveled all over the world with me while I played in Italy professionally for two years and probably knows as much about water polo as I do. I am excited to say that we are expecting a baby girl in October and also am so happy that she will be in the stands in London cheering me on. I always tell her she is the one who gives me power in the pool. So sweetheart, cheer loud because I know I am going to need every bit of power we have to win that gold medal. I love you with all of my heart and always will.
I would also like to thank my mother and father, Marlene and Max Moses. They have supported my quest to win a gold medal in the Olympic Games ever since I started playing water polo in high school. Without their support I would not be where I am today nor would I be the man I am today. Thank you for everything Mom and Dad. You both are amazing and I love you both so much.
Thanks to all of my fans that have supported me throughout the years and that are supporting me on this journey to win OLYMPIC GOLD. Buckle up your seat belts and hold on, because the games are about to begin on July 29th against Montenegro. Tune in and get ready for me and my team to put on a show.
