Personal: Daughter of Rebecca Bowie and Charles McClammer, Chelsea grew up playing basketball, tennis and track even after incurring a spinal injury after a car accident at the age of six. She never let injury define her and at age 14, went on to become the youngest member of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic U.S. Track and Field team after joining the national team two years prior. Studying Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, Chelsea’s dream is to move back to Seattle and work at the hospital she went through rehab at after her accident, Seattle Children’s Hospital, to be a children’s rehab counselor.
