Personal: Began shooting archery at 7 years old...At the age of 15, he was in a car accident that cost him his right arm...After nearly 10 years away from the sport, he was encouraged by his father to give archery another try...The first time he shot a bow after losing his arm, he used a bow modified to hold with his feet...He is a high school physics and engineering teacher...Made his first world team in 2007, and went on to become the first American to compete in two different disciplines (Compound and Recurve) at two different Paralympic Games, and is the first American to win a World Championship in the Para Recurve division...Is a Level 4 archery coach for U.S. Archery...Married to his wife Rachel and has a son Logan and a daughter Natalie...His hobbies include fishing, camping, and movies
