Following nearly five months of renovations, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee opened the redesigned Olympic & Paralympic Training Center Visitor Center in July 2016. The renovated facility provides an upgraded experience to the more than 130,000 guests who annually visit the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, while honoring the rich heritage and enduring legacies of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
Among the enhancements is a new entrance on the west side of the building, which places guests in an interactive, digitally reimagined rotunda. Powered by five Panasonic high-definition projection screens, the rotunda features stirring video highlights and rotating exhibits showcasing Team USA athletes who live and train at the facility. Equipped with access to NBC’s live broadcasts, the redesigned space also will allow fans to experience the inspiring moments in which Olympic and Paralympic dreams are realized during the Games.
One of the many revolutionary elements is the Panasonic Social Media Wall and interactive touch-screen display, which will allow visitors to track Team USA athletes as they prepare for future competitions and recount top moments from past Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Guided tours of the OPTC facilities are available throughout the year. Each tour begins with a video presentation, followed by a walking tour of the complex. The video and tour experience lasts approximately one hour. All tours are ADA accessible.
All ages are welcome, however information provided on the tours is most appropriate for ages 8 and older. A separate Visitor Center experience is available specifically for pre-school groups.
Severe weather closures: Though our campus experiences mild weather for most of the year, in the case of severe and dangerous weather patterns nearby we may issue a closure for the safety of our staff and guests. You may call our Visitor Center phone at 719-866-4618 to check on the availability of tours in such instances.
