Holly Shick was named the chief ethics & compliance officer at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee in July 2020. In her role, she will oversee the USOPC’s National Governing Body certification renewal program, its NGB compliance division dedicated to addressing problems with compliance, and the audit and organizational advancement team, which assesses NGBs against audit standards each quadrennial. She is also responsible for ensuring USOPC compliance programs and procedures are effective and efficient in identifying and preventing deficiencies, and upholding the organization’s commitment to respond more quickly and decisively when issues occur.

As the first chief ethics & compliance officer at the USOPC, Shick will lead the compliance team in establishing, implementing and enforcing standards and operations to champion a culture of oversight and accountability, both within the organization and across the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic community. Under her direction, the USOPC will implement its new NGB certification program, including via recurring audits on a set of 58 standards beginning in January 2021, and will focus on supporting NGBs in their successful interpretation and adoption of the new requirements.

Prior to the USOPC, Shick served nearly four years as the global head of the Consumer Financial Crime Compliance Know Your Customer execution program at Goldman Sachs, and previously served as a federal prosecutor for eight years.

Shick earned her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and her Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law.
