Commitment
USOPC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Department:
The goal of diversity, equity and inclusion at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee is twofold: to improve performance and to ensure long-term support for Team USA by harnessing the synergy of diverse talents to create a high-performing team. The USOPC is invested in providing access and opportunity for communities of color, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities and those of all genders and gender identities.
The USOPC has taken definitive steps to diversify its workforce, and the entire U.S. Olympic and Paralympic family, to better reflect the athletes we serve. This is essential for Team USA to remain successful on the world stage. By welcoming individuals from every background and creating equal opportunities for historically underrepresented groups, the USOPC will continue to build a diverse team of strong role models to inspire future generations of Olympians and Paralympians.
Since its inception, the diversity, equity & inclusion department has created initiatives and programs to insure the full participation of all Americans. Examples of the department’s work include:
- Developed award-winning D&I Scorecards and Benchmarks Program.
