Tokyo 2020 mascots, Miraitowa (L) and Someity (R) on stage during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Two Years To Go Ceremony at Tokyo Skytree in Tokyo, Japan

Hello, Team USA Friends and Family!

チームアメリカの友人と家族

In a few short months, Team USA will march into Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are so excited for this moment and the Games that follow and are thrilled that you will accompany your athlete as they have the experience of a lifetime in Japan. These athletes would not be where they are today if it wasn’t for your support on and off the field of play, so it is only fitting you watch them achieve their goals on the world’s largest stage. On behalf of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, thank you for being a member of the Team Behind the Team.

The USOPC’s Friends and Family Program is designed to serve as a resource in your preparation for, and during, the Games to ensure that you have the best possible experience in Japan. Leading up to the Games, the USOPC and your athlete’s National Governing Body will be sharing a wealth of information. This website and handbook are designed to help answer questions that you might have regarding accommodations, tickets, transportation, venues, culture, security and hospitality in Tokyo. These resources will be updated as new information becomes available. Please check back frequently for new information.

If you have any questions as you prepare for your trip, please contact the team leader or friends and family coordinator for your NGB. We are happy to assist and welcome your suggestions about topics to add to this website.

We are so proud of all the athletes seeking a place on the 2020 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams  and will be honored to have Team USA represent our nation this summer – and we equally recognize the dedication and support of the friends and family behind these efforts. We look forward to cheering alongside you in Japan and serving as a resource to you however we may assist.

東京で会いましょう!

See you in Tokyo!
